We know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but it can also be the most boring meal of the day. Who has time to cook up an English breakfast at 6;30 in the morning – well not us! However, we understand it is so important to fill our body with a nutritious and filling meal that only takes minutes to prepare during our morning rush. Our solution is SMOOTHIE BOWL!

Smoothie bowls has been the hot topic talk in town. No wonder, this magical bowl is not only pleasing to the eyes, delicious to consume but it is also filled with so much nutrients that your body needs in the morning.

Our green smoothie bowl is easy to digest, keeps you hydrated, increase your energy, high in fiber and gets your hair and skin glowing.

To save up time cutting up fruits in the morning, we always have some frozen fruits in the freezer ready to be used for a smoothie of drink. It is good to have some frozen bananas, pineapple, berries, and other fruits you like to freeze. So from the night before, cut up some fruits into bite pieces, and then put each fruits into their own ziplock bag. We use horenzo leaves that creates this vibrant coloring to the smoothie.

Horenzo, like many other green vegetables are rich in iron, that helps your red blood cells to absorb oxygen and calcium important in strengthening your bones. This green smoothie is also filled with energy giving carbohydrates, potassium, manganese, high in vitamin C, rich source of fiber, and packed with antioxidants. The nutrients and minerals in these green smoothie is good for the health of your heart, fights cancer, strengthen your immune system and anti aging.

Smoothie bowls are usually topped with fruits, granola, moesli, grains, or nuts. Here we added some sliced local persimmon, bananas, granola and dried goji berries. Let’s get started with this recipe!

Green Coconut Smoothie Bowl

serves 2

Ingredients:

·
1 cup frozen pineapple
·
1 frozen banana
·
1/3 cup coconut water
·
1 cup horenzo leaves

Toppings:

·
sliced bananas and persimmon
·
granola
·
goji berries

Methods:

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into a bowl and topped with sliced persimmon, bananas, goji berries and granola.
